Westray Veasey, J.D.
Chief Fiduciary Counsel, Principal
As Chief Fiduciary Counsel, Westray is primarily responsible for the firm’s legal matters. She’s also a member of the firm’s Management Committee. She oversees the firm’s fiduciary activities and advises the firm’s individual clients with regard to their estate planning matters. She also works with our nonprofit clients regarding their legal and compliance issues.
Prior to joining Trust Company, Westray practiced law with Poyner Spruill LLP in their trusts and estates group. She has over twenty five years of experience advising clients in the areas of estate, generation-skipping transfer and gift tax planning, business succession planning, asset protection and estate and trust administration. Westray has been recognized in Business North Carolina Magazine’s “Legal Elite” for Tax and Estate Planning.
Westray graduated with honors from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a B.A. in psychology (1990). She received her Juris Doctor degree from Wake Forest University as a member of the Law Review.
Westray and her husband, Glenn, have two sons and live in Raleigh. Westray is a member of the investment committee of the North Carolina Bar Foundation and volunteers with PORCH Raleigh, an organization fighting food insecurity in Wake County. In her spare time, she enjoys watching college basketball, live music, traveling, and time at the beach with her family.
