The recent devastation caused by Hurricane Helene across Western North Carolina has impacted countless communities. From Asheville to smaller towns and rural areas, record-breaking rainfall—up to 31 inches in some locations—led to catastrophic flooding, the destruction of homes and businesses, and, tragically, the loss of dozens of lives in this state alone. The road to recovery will be long for these communities, which have been hit harder than anyone could have imagined.
